Betty Hall

Betty has been a member of MMTC since 1990 and is our current chairman. She has managed to advise, direct, choreograph and organise numerous shows, often to NODA nominated and winning success. She has also won the Special Achievement Award for Services to Musical Theatre for her dedication and hard work. Not only is Betty chairman for the company but Production coordinator, overseeing the booking and smooth running of productions, working alongside the production teams as well as official bodies at the theatre itself.

Kay Davies

Kay Joined MMTC in 2015 and since then has performed as leading lady in several of our shows most recently with her NODA nominated performance as Emma in Jekyll & Hyde. Kay’s role as vice chairman is to support the chairman in their role and to take on the duties of chairman when required. Kay is also a member of our ticket/box office team and runs the weekly raffle at rehearsals, helping us raise much-needed funds that help us put on our fantastic shows!

Chris Barrie

Treasurer

Chris joined the company in 2019 to join the chorus of Jesus Christ Super Star since then Chris has enjoyed taking on supporting roles in Gypsy, Guys and Dolls and Jekyll & Hyde. This year accepted the mammoth role, not in a show but behind the scenes by becoming the companies Treasurer taking over from Graham Hall who served in the role for over 20 years. Chris is here to manage any financial needs or queries.

Gill Culshaw

Secretary

Gill is not only our secretary, who oversees our correspondence and aids in decision making. She also acts as our NODA link, orders long service awards, keeps the members handbook up to date to list just a few the responsibilities that Gill handles, whilst also taking part in the shows too.

Alex McKillop

Technical Production co-ordinator

Alex is part of the fixtures and fittings at MMTC. From an early age he has been performing in our productions, and during his time with us he has also gained a wide knowledge of theatre skills collaborating with the crew, sound, and lighting teams. It is this valuable knowledge that makes Alex an asset to our committee assisting Betty as production co-ordinator and being a liaison with the Theatres technical teams.

Phoebe Hill

PR & Marketing Officer

Phoebe joined MMTC in 2016 and found her confidence thanks to the wonderful encouragement of the company. Her first time singing on stage was in the 2017 production of Anything Goes, she then went on to play many lead roles; most recently winning a NODA for her role of Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde. Phoebe manages our website as well as all social media and publicity aspects for MMTC; as well as being the current creator for our show programmes and other marketing materials. Phoebe is also a member of our online Box Office/ Ticket Team, helping with the online ticket system and also helps run the Community Sponsorship Scheme.

Yasmin Cranny

Events Coordinator and Ticket Team

Yasmin became a member of MMTC in 2017, and is always eager to be involved not only on stage but by showing great support by taking on roles such as Box Office co-ordinator and supporting and being involved in fundraising events. It is because of this we are delighted to welcome Yasmin as Event’s Co-ordinator to oversee and drive fund raisers throughout the year. Yasmin is also a part of the ticket team.

Natalie Olson

Ticket Team

Nat has been a member of MMTC since 2008 and is always pursuing ideas to support the company, including organising and hosting our annual Race Night which is always extremely popular. She has also shown us on a large number of occasions how incredibly talented she is and acted in a multitude of shows, even garnering nominations and wins from NODA!

Eric Fletcher

Events Co-ordinator and Sound Maintenance

Eric has been a part of our company for many years and in that time has taken on a multitude of roles, not just on stage, but behind the scenes as crew and event host. Eric has performed in a multitude of shows with MMTC, even earning nominations and wins from NODA. We are excited that Eric has joined the committee to work alongside Yasmin as Events Co-ordinator to oversee events and make regular announcements to the company. If you have any fundraising ideas, please seek him out.

Eric is also responsible for the company’s sound equipment, ensuring it is maintained for our charity concerts.

Becky Barrie

Membership and Ticket Secretary

Becky originally joined MMTC in 1999 but took a break re-joining in 2007 and spent most of her time at MMTC being our stage and headshot photographer.

Becky not only is she here to help all current and prospective MMTC members, but also help with various jobs such as recording the attendance of each rehearsal, website updates and is our newsletter editor (in liaison with the Chairman, Treasurer and Events team). Becky assisted in the set up and development of our online box office, and now acts as Ticket Secretary ensuring the smooth running of the online and telephone sales with the assistance of the Ticket team.

Lee Ashall

Health & Safety Officer

Not only has Lee given us NODA winning performances over his years with us at MMTC, but he has also taken on the responsibility of being our H&S officer. Ensuring that we keep our members safe, especially throughout the covid pandemic.

Graham Hall

Booking assistant and Archivist

For the past twenty years Graham has been treasurer for MMTC ensuring the company continues to thrive and flourish. This year Graham decided to hand over the reins of a complex role but is still collaborating with the committee supporting us with booking shows and keeping archives.

Ian Culshaw

Librarian and Adverts

Ian has been a member of MMTC for many years as taking part not only on stage but as director. Ian has just received a nomination from NODA alongside Betty for Best direction of Jekyll & Hyde in 2022. Ian assists Phoebe with our show programmes for the audience at the theatre, sourcing well needed advert sponsorships and donations. He is also our Librarian who helps with scripts and Libs for each show.

Chris Rimmer

Corporate Community Sponshorship Manager

Chris joined us from our award-winning 2022 show, Jekyll & Hyde, even winning Best Leading Actor himself. Chris brought with him a fantastic, charitable scheme to help us give back to our local community. Chris runs our sponsorship scheme and liaises with local businesses who want to support us in encouraging young children into the world of arts, increasing exposure to theatre. Thanks to Chris, we have been able to invite over 400 school children to our shows, who would not normally have the opportunity to do so!

Gaynor Hale

President

Gaynor joined Maghull Musical Theatre Company in 1988, during that time not only has Gaynor performed with us, but she has also choreographed and directed productions and is a past chairman. Gaynor is now not only our President but also acts as company representative at Maghull Parish Hall meetings. Gaynor also stands to welcome in newly (or in some cases re-elected) committee members at our annual AGM.

Sarah Fletcher

Merchandise

Sarah has been a part of MMTC since an early age taking part in children’s chorus until she was old enough to join as an official member when took to the stage as Maggie Abernathy in Brigadoon 1999. Since then, Sarah has gone on to perform in an array of principal and supporting roles as well as choreographing several productions with us at MMTC. Sarah is responsible for our merchandise, such as show t-shirts and the company hoodies.

Child Protection Officers

Maghull Musical Theatre Company expects its members to discuss any concerns they may have about the welfare of a child immediately with the Child Protection Officer and subsequently check that appropriate action is taken. If the nominated Child Protection Officer is not available, you should approach a committee member.
